I had not painted with my favorite spot in this season before, but its drama sure grabbed me this year. I began with the far bank and watched the water in fascination to start to get to know it. It changed faster than I expected over the 2 and a half weeks. I will sure look forward to seeing it again next spring, at least knowing it a little.

This is the same perch I'm painting from for an autumn version. I enjoy the contrast this one has with that piece, where here the greens are baby-new, and the light is coming from a very different angle ... literally like seeing something "in a whole new light"
