This is my third early autumn with these trees, and it's fun to see how similar and different they are from one year to another. I've been mostly working and reworking the upper left so far, and in that time I noticed some different effects in the water that I'll be changing toward. I'll update after I get through that.

September starts to signal "early autumn," and this grouping of Basswood trees puts on a great display by being among the first leaves to turn and then begin to fall. Their Maple neighbors have a very different opinion of September, and the mix is fun to watch : >)
