This painting from our backyard is a hybrid, where the lower right half was painted from life, and the upper left in the studio. I was interrupted by 2 days of rain, and the peonie was bowed by the water and had grown. I tried to stake stems back up ... but to nothing recognizable. Fortunately, a spider crawling through the flower had inspired a snapshot. Thank you spidey!

It is so easy to become an ardent fan of peonies, and have at least a small part of yourself that is just waiting for "their time" ...
