Friends, this painting came SO close to being finished this summer. I was working away on the upper left the last several sessions while noticing my eye wants to rework the lower left. It doesn't feel quite right just yet. The water level had dropped too low to do that though, as all the signs were appearing that the season was ending. So, another small dose of patience and I'll look forward to diving back in next May

You can see in this photo that the water level had dropped about 6 inches from its early summer level. I'll wait until next spring to rework the lower left of the piece. See you in May maple leaves! Maybe some of your cousins will impress enough to get into the painting
