"Path into the New"

The subject for this one is the forest showing its annual renewal, and growth into the new version of itself for the year. It's a very short season, probably about 2 weeks proper ... but padded on both sides for a little extra? We had some funky weather this year, so I didn't add so many inches, but it sure feels good to be surrounded by so much "fresh green."

The most natural thing to say working on this piece is: "Oh no, they're growing so fast." It's remarkable how much it does change from one day to another, but it makes for a very fun chase.

When the time for working on this piece returned, it was fun to see that, while a passerby probably wouldn't notice, you can still slightly see my footprints from the year before ...

I really appreciated this forest friend saying: "These trees look nice." Well, that's how I interpreted this moment anyway ... a souvenir of encouragement from day 1 starting this painting : >)
