"Fallen toward Fall"

The subject for this piece is the end of summer and the beginning of fall. I had walked by this spot many times and thought: "I might paint that some day." Well, this last late-September it screamed at me: "NOW!!" I agreed, and charged ahead with the little marvel that it is. Because of the changing season, it looked like this only for about 3 weeks or so. My plan is to get back to it next year a little earlier, and stretch that season of working on it out a little longer : >)

I'm so sentimental, that it's sometimes difficult for me to accept that summer is ending / has ended ... see what I mean? A transition-season painting like this can only help : >)
