I have a series of fallen tree paintings in progress, and this one is the summer version. I'd started it kind of late last summer, so I was eager to get back to it near the end of May. The environment is a bit like "the Shire", and it's been fun to be painting in green again.

Here is my easel at work, and it's mostly in the shade for these sessions, as I try to paint the brightness and shade patterns that move across this scene.
